The STAR interview technique! This is a highly effective way of answering graduate job interview questions. Phone interviews are to be taken as seriously as an on-site interview. If you perform poorly on the phone interview questions, you will almost certainly not be invited to the onsite interview. Lack of knowledge about the company, dropped calls, background noise, and other factors that reveal your unpreparedness can negatively impact the interview and your chances of working for Amazon.
The phone screen interview at Amazon lasts about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Typically, the recruiter will assess your interest and fit for the role. They will also ask basic questions about your background and work experience.
The first telephonic interview would be short and friendly. It would include behavioral and biographical questions. On the other hand, the second telephonic interview could have more technical or competency-based questions.
Another reason why it's challenging to land an offer with Amazon is that its behavioral interview questions are quite challenging. The questions are usually around Amazon's 14 leadership principles that the company values deeply. Here are a few behavioral questions that you can expect at the Amazon phone interview:
Also, Amazon avoids brain teasers (e.g., "How many windows are in Manhattan?") as part of the interview process. The organization believes that those types of questions are unreliable when predicting a candidate's success at Amazon.
Also, smile appropriately when you speak and answer questions. Although your smile is not visible to interviewers over the phone, being in high spirits adds enthusiasm to your overall tone, language and speech. Avoid slouching to maintain a serious approach to the interview.

At the end of your caregiver interview, you will get the opportunity to ask some questions of your own. Ask three smart questions that put you across as a genuine and caring caregiver who wants to learn more about their healthcare organization, the team you will be a part of, and what you can do in the role to succeed.
Remember, an interview of this kind is a very personal experience and can be emotional for the person being interviewed. Be sure to tailor your questions to your individual family member, leaving out those that may be irrelevant or upsetting and adding in additional questions when needed.

Choose the most important attributes that are required to be effective in the job for which you are interviewing. Gather questions from each of the selected competencies to create your list of interview questions.
Not all questions will be applicable to every situation; choose questions that fit the position. When interviewing multiple candidates for a position, it is important to use the same criteria for evaluating each candidate so as to avoid legal problems. The key is to be consistent and fair with all candidates (i.e., show no favoritism or discrimination). Use an interviewing guideline of core criteria/qualifications that is applicable to all candidates for the position.
For the full version of the answer above and an explanation of the framework, take a look at our guide to technical interview questions. While this guide targets primarily product managers, the answer framework for technical explanation questions can be used for TPMs as well.
Finally, coding questions are rare but still sometimes mentioned in interview reports. If you're currently an engineer then you'll probably be asked to write working code; otherwise you can likely get away with pseudocode. Also, notice that the questions asked are easier than the typical Leetcode questions you can expect in software engineering interviews at Meta, Amazon or Google.
As mentioned above, you'll have to answer three types of questions in your TPM interviews: behavioral, technical, and program management. The first step of your preparation should be to brush up on these different types of questions and to practice answering them by yourself.
For technical explanation and coding questions, we recommend learning the step-by-step method we've developed. To practice, you can use that method to craft answers to the technical questions listed in the previous section.
For program management questions, we recommend starting by brushing up on the basics with our program management primer. Another efficient way to do this is to take a free course designed to prepare for the Project Management Professional (PMP) exam such as this course on LinkedIn Learning.
Finally, a great way to practice behavioral, technical, and program management questions is to interview yourself out loud. This may sound strange, but it will significantly improve the way you communicate your answers during an interview.
Practicing with peers can be a great help, and it's usually free. But at some point, you'll start noticing that the feedback you are getting from peers isn't helping you that much anymore. Once you reach that stage, we recommend practicing with ex-interviewers from top tech companies.
